Since today's reader can also be a user at the same time, we're creating a storyworld that lets people explore beyond the page. We do this by using hyperlinks like 'bridges' to hidden parts of a story to allow deeper engagagement.
Say you're reading a book and the character sings. You can now listen in by tapping or zapping the page. You can even look into the character’s mind via Enlivened Rhymes - short animated musical videos streamed through e-books.

How can I help build the Storyworld?
Our first paperback “Tom Thorneval – Dream Merchant Extraordinaire” was named a Digital Gold Award honoree by the Independent Book Publishers Association of America as part of their Benjamin Franklin awards.
Addison’s Tales began as a winning idea at the Flying Sparks Crossmedia storytelling competition way back in 2010. The idea was to create a musical storyworld built by animators, musicians and coders under the watchful eye of an old fairytale writer and composer named C. E. Addison (assisted by Wivern co-founder Jerome Goerke).
Soon after, Wivern was established to turn that idea into something more. So began a lengthy period of development and experimentation where websites and collaborative storytelling ideas were built and tested. Like in all the great tales, this process of trial and error gradually led to the first solid blocks of the storyworld beginning to take shape.
By mid 2014, enough of the groundwork had been laid for the still all-digital storyworld to introduce itself. In September 2014, Addison’s Tales launched on the Indiegogo platform as a calling card to European parters from the realms of print, education and distribution. Interviews in the Frankfurt Book Fair blog and Germany's Deutschlandstipendium followed.
In a lucky twist of fate, Addison’s Tales was even nominated for the very first Berlin Crowdfunding Prize. Not long after, the first distribution partners were signed. Wivern was one step closer to becoming the innovative hybrid digital storytelling agency that it is today - one with its own unique 'house label' created especially for fantasy fans.
Our goal with Addison's Tales has always been to innovate the traditional storytelling landscape with fresh ideas and digital flair. This approach has given us an extensive source of specialised knowledge and experience that we now offer to publishers, corporate clients, agencies and authors looking to have their story illuminated in the online space.
